Officially Approved: The 2026 Noah’s Ark Research Project
The Republic of Türkiye has authorized a full geological research project at the Durupınar formation, directed by Prof. Dr. Cenker Atila of Sivas Cumhuriyet University in cooperation with Noah’s Ark Scans.
In June 2026, the Noah's Ark Research Project received official approval from the Erzurum Regional Directorate of the Ministry of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change. Under this authorization, a series of geological investigations will be conducted at the formation in the Doğubayazıt District of Ağrı Province, in accordance with the approved research plan.
Directed by Prof. Dr. Cenker Atila (Department of Archaeology, Sivas Cumhuriyet University) and carried out in cooperation with Noah's Ark Scans, the project marks a milestone after decades of patient, non-invasive study. It clears the way for modern surveying, geophysical analysis and geological investigation.
